A real doll skeleton is a mechanical frame, and the safest way to treat it is like a system with intended ranges rather than a set of joints that should be forced until they “look right”. Move one joint at a time
Support the body close to the joint you are adjusting. Move slowly and stop when resistance increases sharply. If a pose requires force, change the setup instead of forcing the joint. Different manufacturers and bodies can have different ranges, so model-specific instructions take priority.
Large joints versus small structures
Hips and shoulders are designed to carry more load than fingers or toes, but that does not make them indestructible. Small structures need especially gentle handling because a small lever can concentrate force quickly. Never use fingers, hands, feet or the neck as lifting points.
